Incredibly No Mad Karma’s Producer, Drummer and Percussionist Preston has been involved at the cutting edge of Music in 5 different decades, like some kind of musical Zelig!
His first success came as a member of Gonzalez in 1978 on Worldwide Disco Smash “Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet”. Then following a spell with school friend Phil Collins in his fusion band Brand X, in 1979 Kate Bush called and asked him to join her band, he did and featured on many of her Recordings and Videos and was a key member of the Lionheart Tour – AKA “The Tour Of Life” considered by many to be the best tour in Music History!
Sye is the son of legendary 60’s entertainer Frankie Vaughan and a cousin of Amy Winehouse. Singing is in his genes; he has been doing it since he can remember. He grew up “in a suitcase” watching from the wings of the theatres of Great Britain, singing along and learning as dad Frankie performed with the greatest artists and bands in the world!
Sye has a Voice equally as powerful and emotional as his famous relatives and yet it is incredibly different and unusual. He has found a home for it and for his moving and evocative lyrics in NO MAD KARMA, the band he has formed with partners Aidos Sagat and Preston Heyman.
Aidos, son of Kazakh symphonic composer Mansur Sagatov, Lives in the beautiful city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, where since 1994 he has been the Composer, Singer and Keyboard player for No 1 Kazakh Band Urker. He also wrote all of their Hits!
After a chance meeting at the after party of Urker’s concert at the Ministry Of Sound in London, He has now together with his partners Sye and Preston Heyman formed multinational band “NO MAD KARMA”
Phil got his first professional break with the Bernie Torme Band during the punk boom of 1976/77. He then formed The Original Mirrors first line up getting his first experience of ‘big’ concerts and chart action.
Joining Toyah in December 1980 was a commercial turning point as he became part of the Toyah Band’s hit making years between 1981 and 1983, helping to make iconic pop singles such as ‘It’s A Mystery’ and ‘I Wanna Be Free’.
